CPF&G's Hunter Education Requirements
NHF&G Needs Instructors Become an instructor and help to promote Safe, Ethical and Responsible Hunting.

Requirements to receive a Certificate of Completion

(You must be at least 12 years of age by the completion of class)

 

1.  You must attend, ALL scheduled classes, for their duration. 

2.  You must be attentive to “ALL” spoken, along with written instructions  given.

3.  You must be prompt for class, and in returning from breaks, and lunch breaks.

4You must be considerate of all those around you and conduct yourself in an appropriate manner at all times.

5You must complete, ALL assigned tasks. (homework, etc., on time.)

6You must, pass both of the Field Tests.

Map and Compass, (You are to demonstrate that you have a good understanding of the subject and can plot and follow a course using the same).

Firearms, (You are to demonstrate your competency in firearm handling and that you have a complete working knowledge of the 10 commandments of Firearm Safety.)

7.  You are also required to pass a Written Exam, with a score of no less than 80%.

 

What I will need from you, prior to registering you for the course:

 

Your:  Full and Complete legal name, as you would like it to appear on your certificate.

Your:  Date of Birth.

If you are under 18, I require one of your parents, or your legal guardian, to be at the first class so they may sign your course card, in one of the instructor’s presence.

Legal guardians must supply written proof. Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles, are not allowed to sign.  Without this Parental signature you will not be allowed to attend the course.  Cards cannot leave the classroom.

Course fee$2.00, Cash per student. Due the first night of class.

I do not accept personal checks, money orders or credit cards.

On Saturday and Sunday CPF&G offers lunch, Hamburgers and hotdogs at very reasonable prices.  Sodas are available at all times.  If you bring your own lunch, please provide adequate storage. CPF&G does not have a refrigerator for student use.

Please dress appropriately--jeans, full top T-shirts, and sneakers are fine.  Dress for the weather on Sunday.

Please bring a black ink pen, and a pencil with you. You are required to provide your own shooting glasses. (safety glasses are not shooting glasses).

We will be using bolt action, single fire, 22LR rimfire rifles during the Firearms Field Test.

NO STUDENT IS ALLOWED TO HAVE ANY FIREARM OR AMMUNITION, LIVE, OR SPENT, IN THEIR POSSESSION, EVEN IF YOU HAVE A C0NCEALED CARRY PERMIT.

If your profession requires you to carry a firearm at all times, I will need written statement from your supervisor, prior to the first night of the course. (NHF&G Regulations).

Any violation to this regulation and you WILL be asked to leave, and you WILL NOT receive a certificate of completion, and your course fee will not be refunded.

What we will do for you: 

 

Although will do not teach you how to "hunt", we will instruct you in, Hunter Safety, Ethics, Responsibility, Basic Survival Skills, including Map and Compass, Along with other topics.

If you have a learning disability, please advise me prior to the first night of class so that the appropriate arrangements can be made to accommodate you, without embarrassment to you in any way.

(You must reach 12 years of age, by the completion of class)

4. You must be, considerate of all those around you, and conduct yourself in the appropriate manner, at all times.

Hunter Education Program

is seeking New Instructors to join the CPF&G teams.

 

To become a NHF&G Hunter or Bow Hunter Education Certified Instructor.

You must at least 18 years of age.

You must have passed a Hunter Education or Bow Hunter Education course from any state and provide proof of completion.                            

You will be interviewed by a Chief Instructor.                            

You must agree to a State and Federal background check.                              

You will need to attend one of the New Instructor Course’s held at the

NHF&G Owl Brook Hunter Education Center in Holderness NH.

Sat 5/7 9:00am-4:00pm   Sat 5/21 9:00am-4:00pm   Sat 8/6 9:00am-4:00pm

Bow Hunter Education New Instructor Course: Dates and Times

Sat 4/16 9:00am-4:00pm  Sat 5/14 9:00am-4:00pm Sat 7/30 9:00am-4:00pm

Once you have completed the New Instructor course;

You will be a NHF&G Certified Instructor and become a member of our experienced team of instructors.

 

By volunteering your time to these valuable programs, you will not only be rewarded by our Team and your personal accomplishments, but by the accomplishments of our students. Knowing you have commited yourself to passing on this tradition of  Safe, Ethical and Responsible Hunters
