2008  INDOOR REAL PINSHOOTS                                  

 Indoor pins will be held on the following Thursday nights.

Set up and sign in starts at 6:30pm shooting starts at 7:00 pm.

Specific Pin Shoot Rules

1.      All persons will follow commands of the ranger officers.

2.      No one will handle a firearm unless instructed to do so by the range officer.

3.      Anyone NOT shooting will not be in the range area. Downstairs  hall will be open for shooters

4.      If your gun needs to be worked on, you are to take it away from the area, UNLOADED with chamber open and work on it with all safety rules in mind. Preferably upstairs, out of range and hall area. See Range officer

5.      Shooters will have 9 seconds to shoot as many Shots as they can at their target.

6.      22’s have 5 seconds to shoot as many Shots as they can at their target.

7.      Targets will be score with an over lay; all scoring is done in the hall area.

8.      There is a 10 round magazine limit (larger clips can be use just load 10 shots.)

9.      All shooters will register with Head Range Officer

10. Non club members will sign appropriate waivers

 

Command Structure

Minimum 2 range officers on duty at all times.

Head Range Officer : Shouts the commands/Timer ( from podium)and over sees everyone.

Range Officers: Stands immediately behind the shooters, confirms shooters are loaded and ready for the “horn”, confirms safe condition before any fire arms are moved.

Score keeper: Will be responsible for recording scores. This will be done in the downstairs hall after shooters are done each relay.

How we run our shoots

1. We have 5 stations, there will be Five shooters at a time rotating from Stations 1 – 5, for six relays.

2. Targets will be set at the red ribbons.

3. We have 3 range officers. They will control the movement of firearms and Target setting. 

4. Each person will replace the target when finished at command of range Officer.

5. The range officer will call the first five shooters to the line. Each shooter will approach the line with action open, safety on and muzzle pointed In a safe direction.’

6.  Head Range officer will ask if all range officers and timer are ready.

7. All shooters will make ready at the command of the range officers. Make ready means load firearm, safety on (revolvers Hammer down) Hold the firearm at 45°.

8. Head Range officer will ask Shooters ready? At that point, the start horn will Blow and timer starts for 9 seconds.

9. At end of 9 seconds, finish horn blows, there should never be any shots Fired after the horn.

10. Any shot before or after horn, will be deducted from score.

11.  Ranger officer will instruct shooters to unload and make firearm safe. Then     lay them on table. Range officer will visually inspect each firearm.

12.  Range officer will then say “RETRIVE TARGETS at that time the shooters will retrieve their targets and put out a new one for the next shooters

13. When targets are set, the range officer will announce shooters to put fire arms in cases and change of shooters. All shooters and next five shooters will then and only then, move their firearms. All fire arms are to be in case when in the club hall.

22’s Only

For the 22 shoot, all the same rules apply, except that the time will be reduced to 5 seconds.

Tie Breakers

Ties will be determined by the number of  “X shot out

Remember: Safety is #1.

Shooting Classes

Open Class: Any handgun, 10 round magazine capacity, as long as The firearm does not pose any safety concern. Only firearms that are allowed per the Indoor rules will be allowed to shoot.

The Maximum strength of ammunition allowed on the indoor range is .44 Magnum (.50 caliber .454 caliber and .480 caliber loads are not allowed.

Revolver Class: Range officer must check magazine/cylinder prior to load Command. Only firearms that are allowed per the Indoor rules will be allowed to shoot.

We will shoot all first strings of Open Class, then all first strings of Revolver This way, Open and Revolver are shot simultaneously. After completion of center fire, we shoot .22.

Cost and Prizes

The cost is

$7.00 per gun for center fire.

$5.00 per gun for 22.

We are running our shoots for the enjoyment of all and to better your shooting skills. If you choose to be in the “money pool” you can.

Money pool will be $2.00 for those whom choose too. The money will be divided into first, second, and third place. Basically 50% to 1st place 30% to 2nd and 20 % to 3rd. Prize money is only given to those whom participate in putting in the extra $2.00 to do so.
